Drinking yogurts sales up in Germany

German sales of drinking yogurts increased by 7% in 2005 while total yogurt sales (solid and drinking) stayed stable at just under 25kg per household.

Latest figures from the central market and price agency (ZMP) indicate that drinking yogurt is now the motor for dairy fresh article expansion with annual household consumption of the of these dairy drinks, increasing to 3.5 kg representing a rise of 25% between 2003 to 2005.
Within total yoghurt sales, fruit flavoured products have now secured 62% of the market. Most of the remaining sales are for unflavoured
