Campaign to save the cheese sandwich continues

As Dairy Industries International recently reported, a survey of UK consumers by Anchor Cheddar revealed that the traditional cheese sandwich was in decline. Over 55% of the nation had not eaten a cheese sandwich in the week the survey was commissioned.

The survey spurred Anchor Cheddar into launching a cheese sandwich tour of the UK, handing out samples in different towns and cities across the nation.

The tour is now almost half way through its journey around the nation and has handed out over 250,000 cheese sandwiches to Brits and with over 23,500 people signed up to the campaign to date, the nation has embraced this crusade to save the cheese sandwich.

Louise Thornton from Anchor Cheddar says, “Our campaign has been a huge success to date, welcomed in all cities as it tours the country. Brits have really got behind the campaign and we expect this enthusiasm to continue.”
