Dairy reborn as organic increases in Germany

After Wiegert temporarily closed its facility in Wiesedermeer, Germany at the end of last year, further use of the dairy site has now been optioned. Milk processing should start again in the autumn, but it will operated exclusively as organic dairy. Organic raw milk from its own contract farmers will be processed into organic drinking milk and organic industrial milk as well. There will also be contract organic products made for partners.

To fully utilise the processing capacity of the plant and to meet growing demand for organic products, Wiegert is offering its existing contracted suppliers the possibility to deliver – after successfully passing organic auditing and the relevant conversion period – their raw milk as organic suppliers to the company.
