Arla shows Becht around Pronsfeld

Arla Foods Germany had the opportunity to show the Rhineland-Palatinate state secretary Andy Becht its production site at Pronsfeld, Germany, which is the second largest dairy plant in Europe.

Becht says how extremely impressed he was by the size and performance of the location, which last year processed 1.42 billion kg milk. It now has added significant additional volume, which was taken over from the Belgian Walhorn plant.

The state secretary received a deeper insight into the cooperative structure of Arla as well.

During the visit hot topics were discussed such as education and the idea of imposing milk-value chips, which the state secretary promoted.

There was also a visit to nearby Watzerath, which is important for the future growth of Arla Pronsfeld, the co-operative says.
