Mazoon goes large in Oman

Mazoon Dairy of Oman has awarded a contract for a dairy project in Buraimi, which will produce 202 million litres of milk by 2026, from 25,000 cows and using a fully automated milking parlour. Products will include fresh milk, laban, yogurts, juices and ice cream. “Our goal is to produce approximately 202 million litres (per annum) in 2026, which will go up to 985 million liters in 2040. This will greatly reduce the Sultanate’s import dependency from 64% in 2014 to 13% in 2026,” Dr. Rashid Al Masroori, chairman of Mazoon’s board, told The Times of Oman.
