Frischpack sales up in Germany

The year 2016 was successful for Germany’s Frischpack, as the cheese service provider recorded total sales of more than 45,000 tons, an increase of 400 tons compared to 2015. The annual turnover amounted to over €150 million. The company’s growth rate has been 7.5% per year for the last five years, well above that of the German cheese sector, which is growing at around 2% per year.

Frischpack is constantly working on improving its own business processes and investing in the future, it says. In 2016, for example, a business data acquisition system was implemented to enable more effective use of the equipment. Frischpack is also optimising internal processes in 2017.

“This includes the effective implementation of the 5S method, a component of ;ean manufacturing, which makes operation more efficient, more economical and more ergonomic, while at the same time there is focusing on quality, cleanliness and work safety,” explains Marian Heinz, managing director of Frischpack.

In addition, an OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management system has been introduced and the first sustainability report published in the company’s history.
