Arla sponsors women’s run

Not only German dairies support German athletics. Now Arla Foods is also starting to sponsor sports in Germany. The Barmer Women’s Run as well as the Xletix Challenge have garnered the support of the Nordic dairy company.

“The Barmer Women’s Run and the Xletix Challenge fit perfectly with us and our two success products Arla Skyr and Arla Protein. Both rounds are about achieving their goal and growing – together and for yourself,” says Elise Bijkerk, senior director of the milk and yogurt category at Arla Foods Germany.

“With our motto ‘Whatever moves you, Arla Skyr takes you further’ we want to encourage all women to believe in themselves, and this is also the focus of the Women’s Run, which is not about being the fastest or the best, but of moving together. The same goes for the Xletix Challenge, which is also about teamwork and the challenge of coping with challenges – and there are obstacles: mud, and almost invincible heights.”

In June started the series of the Barmer Women’s Run, which take place in different German cities all summer. This year six female runners will have the chance to join up with famous partners in the Arla Skyr VIP team.

The other product brand, Arla Protein, is an official sponsor and protein partner of Germany’s toughest obstacle: the Xletix Challenge. In several places during the summer runners will be facing 25 extreme obstacles and at least 12 km of running distance with plenty of mud included.

Here 12 amateur runners will have the chance to join one of three Arla Protein Xletix teams, which are led by famous athletes.
