Dairygold Food Ingredients invests in UK facility

Cheese supplier Dairygold Food Ingredients UK (DFI) is investing in its Crewe facility with the installation of a new line for dicing and grating.

The line, which represents an investment of over £200,000 (€223,200) is expected to streamline operations, improve efficiencies, and deliver a product of greater quality for DFIs food manufacturing customers.

Developed by Holac, manufacturer of cheese dicing, cubing and shredding technology, the Holac AUT 200 combines performance with flexibility and will have the capability to produce small, medium and large cubes of cheese, in addition to shavings and grated varieties.

Keith Stokes, head of operations at DFI UK, says, “The introduction of this new line will not only complement our existing manufacturing footprint at Crewe, but will also provide us with a really solid base to meet future customer demand.”

The DFI Crewe plant is home to the largest grating line in the UK, processing in excess of 450 tonnes of grated/diced cheese per week. In 2015, the company announced that it was investing £1.1m (€1.2m) in a new slicing line at the Crewe site, designed to further improve its offering to food manufacturing and foodservice customers.
