Zott invests in pot production

Date: 21/02/2012

Bavarian-based fruit yogurt and mozzarella specialist Zott is investing around €5 m in its own pot-production facility featuring in-mould labelling. Involved is equipment for five new production lines at the company’s Mertinger plant. Initially, cream yogurts and Jogolé fruit yogurts are to be packaged on the lines. But joining them soon is to be Jogobella, a line of Zott yogurts aimed specifically at the eastern European market. With this brand Zott already claims second place in the important Polish fruit yogurt market with 18% of total sales in this sector (GfK, Poland, January – November, 2011). Jogobella is also marketed in another 21, mainly east European countries, from the Czech Republic to Moldova. Production in Mertinger just now totals around 165,000 Jogobella pots per day.
