Palsgaard’s pilot margarine plant in Singapore
Emulsifier company Palsgaard is in the process of installing a margarine pilot plant at its facilities in Singapore. Haydee Carlos, managing director of Palsgaard Asia-Pacific, explains: “With this new pilot plant we will be able to offer the same service to margarine manufactures in Asia as we currently do in Europe and the Americas. We will help them test and develop margarine and shortening products eg, a low-fat puff pastry margarine with only 35% fat or low-fat spreads with only 10% fat or high-ratioshortenings.”
The FH Scandinox manufactured plant is a “mini factory” with two tube chillers and two pin machines and has a capacity of 60 kg of margarine per hour. In addition to the new pilot plant, Palsgaard Singapore has a bakery application lab that includes an electric dough roller machine for puff pastry, to allow testing testing of margarine emulsifiers in their final applications.The margarine pilot plant is currently being installed and will be ready to receive the customers in March.
