Co-operation for milk research in China

Germany’s Jennewein Biotechnologie in Rheinbreitbach and the Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group have signed a co-operation agreement for the research of the microbiome of newborns and human milk oligosaccharides.

The aim of the collaboration is the development of innovative baby food and other dairy products specifically tailored to the Chinese market.

“Jennewein has already introduced human milk oligosaccharides in other regions of the world, such as the major US market and selected European countries,” said Stefan Jennewein, CEO and co-founder of Jennewein Biotechnologie.

With 50% of the total world market volume (2021: €67bn), China is currently the largest baby food market.
