Bee dairy

There are five beehives at the Berchtesgadener Land dairy in the German town Piding. The deputy production manager and beekeeper Paul Althammer looks after the bees together with the dairy trainees and colleague Markus Enzinger.

When Markus Enzinger started his training as a dairy specialist in 2005, the bee project for the trainees at Berchtesgadener Land did not yet exist. Paul Althammer introduced this in 2016 after starting beekeeping himself.

In the summer Markus Enzinger plans to form a first offshoot of his own colony and hopes that all of his bees will then get over the next winter safely. And if things are going really well, he will look for a colleague in the dairy in a few years, to whom he will bring his first colony of bees.
