Cathedral City refreshes Nibbles line with new design & packaging

Saputo Dairy’s Cathedral City Cheddar cheese brand has announced a refresh of its popular snacking line – Cathedral City Nibbles.

Packs of Cathedral City Nibbles have now moved to a bold new packaging design, aiming to broaden appeal and recruit new family buyers. The new outer pack, featuring an eye-catching smiling face in vibrant colours, will enhance shelf visibility and drive appetite appeal, according to the brand, while clearly calling out the product’s format and suitability for packed lunch occasions. Engaging inner bag designs meanwhile invite younger consumers to play and to learn by mimicking the faces portrayed and answering fun Q&As on back of pack

Alongside the design revamp, new Cathedral City Nibbles’ outer bags will also move to new packaging substrate, made with mono-polyethylene laminate, and can be recycled with plastic bags at large supermarkets.

Neil Stewart, Cathedral City marketing controller, comments: “Our ongoing ambition is to build a sub-brand that resonates with cheese-loving families. Our Nibbles product renovation seeks to address this, with a fun, engaging and appealing pack design, combined with a more sustainable packaging solution so that consumers can feel confident that their product choice is helping to support a more sustainable future for the planet.

“The move to recyclable outer film is a major step forward for our brand and for the industry and brings us closer to SDUK’s ambition of having 100% recyclable consumer facing packaging by FY2022.”
