SalzburgMilch and Pinzgau Milch Produktions are planning a strategic merger, aiming to create a joint company. This will sustainably strengthen the regional dairy industry in Salzburg and beyond, and position it for future success by leveraging numerous synergies. The merger is subject to approval by the relevant bodies of both companies as well as the competition authorities. All locations of both companies will remain and will be further developed within a comprehensive plan, the firms say.

SalzburgMilch and Pinzgau Milch Produktions have been cooperating for years in the production of various dairy products. Now, this collaboration will be expanded to include all other areas, such as milk collection and processing, logistics, sales, and administration. The different focuses of the two companies offer synergy potential, contributing to increased efficiency and sustainably strengthening competitiveness in a demanding market environment.

The combined total of approximately 3,400 milk suppliers of both companies will form the basis for the companies’ future growth and the safeguarding of small-scale farming. All SalzburgMilch and Pinzgau Milch locations in the city of Salzburg, Lamprechtshausen, Maishofen, and Kössen, with a total turnover of €520 million, will be retained and further developed and expanded as part of a comprehensive strategy. The approximately 700 employees will continue to be employed, and consumers should benefit by the expanded range of products from the region, they say.
