His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales has backed the recent campaign calling for the public to support small cheese makers during the Covid-19 crisis.
Something exciting for us cheese folks (and the many fans of cheese) is happening this upcoming weekend – the British Cheese Weekenders, an online cheese festival featuring live-streamed talks, tastings, farm tours, quizzes and cookery demos by some of the country’s leading cheese experts.
Revealing plans for the first ever British Cheese Weekender from 8-10 May, the cheese community will urge the British public to buy direct from cheesemakers and indie retailers to safeguard their future.
The Guild of Fine Food has announced that the World Cheese Awards will be held in the Spanish Principality of Asturias this year, taking place in Oviedo on Wednesday 4 November.
Fanaost, an aged gouda made by Norwegian cheesemaker, Ostegården, has been named World Champion Cheese at the 31st World Cheese Awards in Bergen, Norway.
