International Dairy Federation announces departure of Robert
IDF president Richard Doyle has announced that the current director general, Christian Robert, will be stepping down end of April 2012. Since 2005, Robert has been directing IDF head office and staff to manage the work of the 1,200 volunteer-experts, ensuring the scientific knowledge on dairy issues was transferred to appropriate inter-governmental organizations, enhancing the cooperation between IDF and other NGOs. He also significantly increased the membership of IDF, which currently represents over 86% of the global dairy industry.
“The collaboration with Robert has been extended until end of April 2012. The Board of IDF will continue to offer its full support to Robert until the end of his mandate, and appreciates the commitment of Robert to assist in and facilitate a transition in the spring of 2012.” Doyle says.
The Board of Directors of IDF will be looking for a replacement within the next few months. “Ideally, we would like the transition to be smooth and provide sufficient overlap to allow proper integration of the new Director General, in order to facilitate the transfer, minimize disruption to the IDF work plan and build on the organization’s strengths,” Doyle says. Robert will remain available to assist IDF until the new Director General is recruited.
