Pakistan to establish 1,000 dairy farms
The Pakistan Dairy Development Company (PDDC) is focusing on small farmers to help them set up model dairy farms and enable them to increase their farm productivity and profitability. The objective is to set up 1,000 such farms all over the country.
Realising the need to increase the country’s milk production, PDDC was set up in November 2005 under the supervision of the Pakistani government on the model of public-private partnership.
Dairy Pakistan is nearing its 200th Model Farm implementation and the main purpose is to transfer modern farming technology to Pakistan, assist and train Pakistani farmers in low cost dairying.
