Value Added Dairy conference lineup announced

Agra Informa has outlined the lineup for the 2nd annual Value Added Dairy conference in Copenhagen 26-28 February 2008.

Ola Erici, president and CEO of Skanemejerier will make the keynote speech on driving growth in the European dairy market, covering product innovation, adding value to existing product ranges and international dairy market developments.
Weight management products are forecast to be one of the key trends in new product development in 2008, and Dr David Mela of the Unilever Food & Health Research Institute will assess technical developments in satiety enhancement and the challenges of effectively communicating the science of satiety enhancement to consumers.
In addition, probiotic drinks, heart health drinks with plant sterols, cosmeceuticals and omega-3 products all feature on the agenda. Koen Bouckaert, strategy and business development director at leading soy milk brand Alpro, discusses the market for dairy replacements which are both a threat and opportunity for the traditional dairies.
He will be joined by senior executives from Arla Foods, Valio, Rachel’s Organic, TINE Ingredients, Elopak, amongst others.
The main two day conference programme is complemented by a workshop on authenticating and communicating health benefits, which includes presentations from Kraft Foods, Glanbia Nutritionals and the Swedish Nutrition Foundation.
