Pakistan dairy developments
The Pakistani Zarai Taraqiati Bank (ZTBL) and Nestle Pakistan has signed an agreement for the development of the dairy sector in the country.
According to the agreement, both ZTBL and Nestle Pakistan will provide five billion rupees ($90m) for five years from 2007-11 to finance 10,000 animals each year for dairy sector development under ZTBLs ‘white revolution’ scheme.
Shahab Khawaja, secretary at Pakistans ministry of industries, production and special initiatives, said at the signing ceremony that the move would develop the dairy sector, increase milk production and help stem rising milk prices.
