Zott Group reports improved turnover

German dairy Zott continues its growth in eastern Europe. Last year it purchased Bacha Polska, a processor located in Glogowo with additional processing facilities in the town of Raciborz. These deals follow the Zott establishment of a new dairy further south in eastern Europe, in Bosnia-Herzegovina. This now trades under the name Zott South East Europe. Bacha Polska is a leading producer of dairy desserts with main brand Smakija. Bacha also has a claimed 10% of the Polish market with its yogurts with leading brand Finezja (now marketed under the Zott label).
For 2012 the Zott group announces a 2.8% increase in net turnover to €838 million with the concern also increasing processed milk by almost 7% to a total 919 m kg. Zott also now has distribution centres in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Russia. During the last year the dairy has developed a programme
whereby none of its milk suppliers uses gene-modified crops in dairy cow rations. Another Zott demand of its milk suppliers is that all feed ingredients must be guaranteed grown in the EU.
