Wyke Farms growth reflects
Wyke Farms has achieved the largest growth within UK’s cheddar market with 49% in the last 12 months.
Data from Scantrack, generated from EPOS till scanning systems, has also confirmed the UK’s largest independent cheese producer and milk processor is the second largest cheese brand within impulse/convenience stores.
A 197% growth within the multiples has seen Wyke Farms overtake Horlicks for the first time. Overall, the company is now the fourth largest brand within the UK
cheddar market, following Pilgrims Choice, McLellands and Cathedral City.
Richard Clothier, a third generation family member and managing director, comments, “The new data reflects the consumer’s interest and support of
traditional food companies that can deliver from a reliable source.”
The data also shows a 1.9% increase in the overall value of the cheddar market but a decrease of 1.7% in the value of supermarket own label cheddar.
