Danone doubles capacity in Japan

Danone has announced plans to double the capacity at its Tetebayashi site in Japan, which will bring the facility up to 200,0000 tons of yogurt per year. The expansion is expected to last a decade, with the first phase set for completion in 2016, according to the French dairy giant. This phase will include installation of new lines for more capacity and a logistics centre. The company also plans to develop more unique products for the local market.
In the second phase, a new plant will be built on land adjacent to the current site.
