Lala plans expansion in Mexico
Mexican dairy company Lala is set to expand outside of Mexico and Central America, as well as investing in technology, with a recent $1 billion initial public offering (€731m). The firm expects to replace some smaller plants with larger ones, and to move into new market segments in Mexico, while also seeking to possibly buy other companies in Latin America, according to the Reuters news agency. Lala produces just over half of Mexico’s milk and cream and about one-third of its pre-packed cheese.
