Two million dairy cows culled in China

High production costs and record beef prices have come together in China, meaning smaller dairy processors have culled their cows and left the industry, according to Dairy Australia. Reduction in milk production is estimated to be around 10-15 per cent this year as a result. Both New Zealand and the US are increasing exports to China to meet the increased demand, as it is still outpacing supply, the organisation says.
