Wiseman drops Scottish deal after OFT warning

The Robert Wiseman group has pulled out of a deal to buy Scottish Milk Dairies after a warning about a competition inquiry.

The decision to withdraw followed a caution by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) that it would refer the proposed takeover to the Competition Commission because of concerns about Wiseman gathering more market power.
