Kerrygold sales soar in US

Sales of Kerrygold butter and cheese are powering ahead in the US market, according to Ornua Foods of Ireland. The strong growth in butter and cheese markets puts Ornua Foods North America on target for volume growth of over 30% in 2015.

Kerrygold butter has jumped to third place in the US market, up from fifth place this time last year, and butter revenue has increased by over 60% in the last 12 months. It has also benefitted from resurgence in butter sales thanks to increased awareness of the nutritional benefits of choosing butter from grass fed cows.

Roisin Hennerty, president of Ornua North America, says, “Kerrygold’s performance in the key North American market in 2015 has been exceptional. Our butter and cheese brands are increasing in turnover and growing market share. While the market for dairy products overall has been positive in the UK, we know that there is a particularly strong move towards sustainability produced products.”
