Cattle suffer in wet weather

USA – More than 100 dairy cows have died in southern California due to increased rainfall.

The average annual rainfall in the region is 35.5mm, but there has been more than 75mm since October. According to the Milk Producers’ Council trade group in Chino, California, the deaths have resulted in losses to dairy farms in excess of $40 million (
