Chris Chisnall of Bradburys Cheese in the UK has been named as chairman of the International Cheese Awards at Nantwich. He has worked in the cheese industry for over 12 years, starting at Glanbia/The Cheese Company based in Oswestry, then for the last 11 years as marketing director at Bradburys Cheese in Buxton.
Chisnall has been involved with the International Cheese Awards for the past 12 years, as a committee member for 10 years and co-vice chairman with Ian Luxton for the past six years. In that time he has seen the International Cheese Awards develop into the wonderful spectacle it is today with entries from all around the world, according to Adrian Lawrence, Nantwich Show secretary. His role at Bradburys gives him access to many cheeses and cheese makers from around the world.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank outgoing chairman Bruce Macdonald for all his hard work and invaluable contribution to the ICA. Chris is already looking forward to continuing the good work from Bruce over the last few years and would like to raise the profile of the show even further with cheese retailers around the world, producers, cheese lovers, consumers and press,” notes Lawrence.
Chisnall lives in Stafford with his wife Catherine and two children and is an avid (but long suffering) Wolverhampton Wanderers fan and cricket supporter.
