IRAQ – Sympak Dairy Team, a collaboration of German and Italian dairy companies, is to supply equipment for the production and packing of processed cheese to the State Dairy Company of Baghdad under the ‘Oil for food’ scheme.

The equipment going to Iraq will allow for the production of up to 1,200kg of processed cheese an hour, while an additional line will provide the wrapping and packaging of the cheese into large size cartons for family and catering use. Individual size cheese will also be packed there.

The complete lines are expected to be in full production by some time around June 2004.

Sympak is made up of German dairy Stephan and Italian companies Corazza and RC, and its main objective is to develop turnkey solutions for the dairy industry in processed and cream cheese.
