USA – Dean Foods, the USA’s largest dairy processor, has said that it is to concentrate on its core brands to make the most of its manufacturing capabilities.

The changes will see the company’s Morningstar Foods renamed Dean Branded Products Group. It will oversee marketing of Dean’s national branded products. All of Dean’s private label business will be moved to its dairy group.

Products that will fall into the new branded group include Hershey’s milks and milkshakes, Land O Lakes extended-shelf life dairy products and Folgers Jakada single-serve chilled coffee and milk beverage.

Dean Foods chief executive Gregg Engles said: “This is an important step to sharpen our focus, lower our cost structure and capitalise on our competitive advantages.”
