JAPAN – Nippon Milk Community Company started sales last week in Japan under the Megmilk label.

The new company is a joint venture created by Snow Brand Milk Products to take over its troubled milk businesses as part of a restructuring programme following a series of food related scandals.

The Megmilk products are being sold nationwide through supermarkets such as Daiei Inc. In a bid to gain customer confidence, the products have a shelf-life of just seven days.
