SOUTH AFRICA – South African public private partnership company Kalahari Kid could become a major exporter of goat products to the Middle East if plans to establish large-scale production facilities succeed.

Currently main suppliers of these products are Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and Pakistan. However if the venture, which is led by private investors in South Africa and the Middle East and the Northern Cape government, goes ahead it is expected that product will arrive four to five days sooner.

Although initially only meat products will be exported there are plans to include cheese and milk production.
