Allgauland offer made by Arla Foods
A written offer has now been made for the takeover of the financially-troubled Allgauland dairy by Arla Foods, giving the Scandinavian giant an important foothold in the south German cheese sector. With Allgauland, Arla will have a business processing over 450 million kg of milk annually and producing more than 50,000 tonnes of cheese, including soft and cream cheeses, in the last year alone.
“We are very happy about the offer from Arla because the planned takeover represents an important and necessary step for the future of our enterprise,” says Kuno Rumpel, director of the Allgauland supervisory board.
