Milk given a new lease of life
Charles Wait and Tetra Pak have gone head-to-head with the simultaneous launch of new processes for increasing the shelf life of fresh milk. Both methods will attempt to capitalise on the distaste felt by many consumers towards the flavour of UHT milk.
The Charles Wait process, which is said to extend the shelf life of milk to 28 days, combines the use of temperature, time and pressure to extend shelf life with no depreciation in taste or quality.
