CANADA &#8211,Saputo’s acquisition of Dairyworld Food’s fluid milk and cheese operations has been approved by Dairyworld shareholders.

The deal, which also includes the transfer of certain joint ventures, is subject to regulatory approval but is expected to be completed by the end of this month.

After the transaction, dairy processor Saputo will employ over 8,450 people throughout its production plants and distribution centres in the USA and Canada (for acquisition details see connectingdairy news 14).
