Dairy seeks higher profit margins
Lancashire Dairies has sold its UHT white milk business to long life milk specialist Tanner Foods for an undisclosed sum. The deal increased Tanners’ throughput by 20 million litres, taking the com-pany’s total annual capacity to 100 million litres.
Under the terms of the acquisition, Lancashire Dairies will continue to process orders and pack UHT milk on behalf of Tanners for the next six months. After this time production and order capture will move to Tanners’ Essex dairy, making it the largest single manufacturing site for long life milk in the UK. The company packs milk under own brand labels, in addition to its Longlife Choice brand.
