With Alpma’s new SAN Fresh technology, the manual packaging process is eliminate – the machine provides an attractive, fresh packaging solution for a variety of cheese types and shapes in one simple machine. This delivers a range of hand-wrapped style products, consumer-ready.
“Instead of time-consuming manual wrapping of cheese, the cheese portions can be placed directly onto the in-feed belt,” says Maximilian Fußstetter of Alpma.
The company has developed a completely new concept for wrapping cheese segments in film by machine while retaining the look of hand-wrapped and high-quality products.
SAN Fresh combines the best of both worlds, featuring a hand-packed look with a highly efficient packaging machine solution. Instead of time-consuming manual packaging of cheese, the pieces can be placed directly onto the in-feed belt.
With certain hard cheeses like Parmesan, SAN Fresh wrapping can add an increased shelf life of up to 20 days. This also saves product waste.
The Alpma SAN Fresh sustainable packaging machine saves on plastic waste too —up to 60% compared to conventional packaging solutions. It is a highly-flexible packaging machine with a film material range 80 to 350mm.
SAN Fresh offers the flexibility to wrap different sizes of cheese with just one format.
That means no format change and no downtime.
The technology can be used with different film options, such as 15μm(micrometer) PVDC (polyvinylidene chloride) film with chloride, or 12μm polyolefin base without chloride, which is recyclable.
SAN Fresh allows supermarkets, food services, deli counters, farm shops and all retail outlets to sell regional products with environmentally-friendly wrapping.
