Ishida’s acquisition of National Packaging Systems (NPS) in 2024 is being showcased at Propak Cape, or the African food and non-food industries. Ishida will also present two new products on the African continent: Its Inspira snacks packing system and a stick pack / sachet maker. Other highlights include examples from Ishida’s top selling multihead weigher and X-ray inspection system ranges, and three models from NPS’s range of filling and packaging solutions.

Based in Kwa-Zulu Natal, NPS has been a trusted name for high-performance filling and packaging solutions for well over 40 years. Melika Seiderer, Ishida’s GM for Africa, notes, “Through our acquisition of NPS, African food and non-food businesses have now even better access to world-class automation solutions!”.

On display will be the 34S Vertical Form, Fill & Seal (VFFS) bagmaker for powders, granulars and liquids, renowned for its efficiency and durability and available with customisable filling solutions for a large variety of formats and materials.

The multilane Vertical Sachet machine on show offers increased productivity by packaging multiple sachets simultaneously. Overmounted, servo-driven auger fillers ensure exact and consistent weight control, for unparalleled accuracy and consistency. The semi-automatic A1 Auger Filler for powder offers reliable dosing and consistent powder flow for products such as milk powder and soya blends.

Last but not least, the semi-automatic Basculating Volumetric Filler for liquids and solid foods ensures accurate, efficient and reliable filling with consistent portion control.

Also on show will be Ishida’s recently launched CCW-AS top-of-the-range multihead weigher which helps manufacturers achieve the highest weighing speeds whilst maintaining close to 100% weighing accuracy and -consistency, helping food manufacturers reduce giveaway and increase output and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) whilst delivering a 20% reduction in energy consumption.

The exhibition will take place from 27-29 October, at the Capetown International Convention Centre (CICC), with Ishida and NPS located on stand D1 in Hall 1.
