Established in 1968, Blackwater Engineering is a family-owned company based in Mallow, Co. Cork, Ireland, with over 58 years of engineering excellence. We provide high-quality process and storage solutions to the food, dairy, beverage, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Our reputation is built on reliability, innovation and customer-focused engineering, with more than 13,200 successful projects complete to date.

Blackwater design and manufacture stainless steel process vessels, storage silos & bulk solid handling systems tailored to each customer’s specific requirements, including:

• Process Vessels: 50–100,000 litres, with specialised agitation, heating and cooling systems.
• Storage Silos: 10,000–330,000 litres.
• Turnkey Bulk Solids Handling Systems.

From milk storage and yoghurt processing to chocolate mixing and cream tempering, we deliver complete processing solutions backed by decades of industry expertise.

In partnership with Fresco Systems NZ, we provide complete bulk solids handling solutions, including:

• Lean and dense phase powder conveying systems
• System design, engineering and manufacturing
• Automation and control systems
• Installation and commissioning

Blackwater has exported to more than 20 countries over the past 40 years, with key markets in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Our expertise in international logistics, customs compliance and export planning ensures equipment is delivered on schedule and ready for installation.

Investing in Innovation

Continuous investment in advanced manufacturing technology enables us to deliver high-quality products efficiently. Our capabilities include automated welding and polishing, laser cutting of stainless steel up to 25 mm, orbital pipe welding, and semi-automated cone manufacturing and polishing.

We are also developing a new manufacturing facility dedicated to large-capacity storage silos and skid-mounted process systems, expanding our production capacity to meet our growing customer demand.

Our People

Our team of 60 skilled professionals across engineering, manufacturing, operations and sales is supported by a successful apprenticeship programme, welcoming five new metal fabrication apprentices each year. Our apprentices have represented Ireland at WorldSkills competitions and achieved national recognition for their achievements.

After-Sales Support

Blackwater provides comprehensive after-sales service, technical support, spare parts and tailored maintenance contracts. Our engineering team offers both on-site and remote assistance, including out-of-hours support when required, ensuring customers receive reliable long-term service.
