A recommendation to scrap Codex Processed Cheese standards has been given the go ahead by the Codex Committee on Milk and Milk Products (CCMMP).

The committee decided to revoke the international standards on processed cheese after talks in New Zealand.
The International Dairy Foods Association has welcomed the move.
