Belgium has highest milk output
Only Belgium, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Poland appear to have increased their respective milk output during 2009, according to the French Centre for Milk Economy (CNIEL).
The group delivered preliminary results predicting a 5.1% increase in milk production for Belgium, and increases ranging from 3.6 to 3.9% for Germany, Denmark and Poland. The Netherlands looks like increasing output by around 2%, says CNIEL. The French milk sector dropped production from January to September 2009 by 4.8%, with Ireland down 2.9% and Britain down 1.2% in that period. Over in the East, Hungary reports a 4% drop in production during 2009 with Slovakia down by an estimated 8.9%.
