FHI appoints new chief executive
Food for Health Ireland (FHI) has appointed Jens Bleiel as its new chief executive.
Bleiel (pictured left) was previously head of DSM Food Specialties’ functional food ingredients business.
FHI brings together the scientific and commercial expertise of Ireland’s leading research institutions and dairy processing companies: University College Cork, University College Dublin, University of Limerick, Teagasc’s Moorepark Food Research Centre, Carbery, Dairygold, Glanbia and the Kerry Group.
All of them are based in a single research centre aimed at developing functional food products to improve people’s health and wellness.
Bleiel will be focusing on raising global awareness of FHI’s world class scientific research programme, the contribution of dairy bioactives in tackling health issues and the importance of the close relationship between the research institutes and commercial partners.
