One of the longest-running ‘fair price’ campaigns for dairy products ended a successful first year in August with a total of five dairy products including UHT drinking milk retailing nationwide.

A bonus is paid directly to farmers with each sale.

Under a title translating as “A heart for producers‚” German discounter Netto marked the campaign’s birthday by introducing a locally-produced 3.5% fat pasteurised milk in its north western supermarkets priced at €0.58 per litre.

Like all other products in the campaign €0.10 from the retail price is paid straight to the producing farmers via their respective processors.

Netto is one of Germany’s top three discounters with over 3,000 outlets throughout the country and a claimed 18 million shoppers per week.
