Last remaining farmers transfer to new milk purchasers
The last remaining farmers from Dairy Farmers of Britain (DFOB) have transferred to new milk purchasers.
The UK co-operative went into receivership in June, with receivers PricewaterhouseCoopers recently announcing that the last remaining farmers have either moved to their new milk purchaser or retired.
At the date of receivership, DFOB had 1,813 farmers supplying milk to the co-operative. Farmers were given the freedom to find a new milk purchaser while PwC worked closely with a number of organisations to coordinate and help achieve this.
It resulted in an agreement with Milk Link at the end of June which ensured any remaining DFOB farmers were offered new contracts.
