Nestlé-Lactalis yogurt plant to double output

The Nestle-Lactalis plant in Normandy, which will soon host the flavoured fromage frais/yogurt operations of the nearby Sarrebourg plant, will double its output from 30,000 to 60,000 tonnes of processed milk per year when the production shift takes place during the fourth quarter of 2008.

To host the extra capacity, an extra 4,000 square metres were added to the plant, which will soon have 14 production lines. Around 80% of the facility’s output is currently sold under the companies’ own brands (Sveltesse, Yoco, la Laiti
