Tine to invest in new dairy
“Norwegian dairy cooperative Tine is to invest NKK1.39bn (€175.3m) in a new processing plant in the municipality of Ha in Norway.
The 25,000-square metre facility will process some 200m litres of milk per year, producing cheese and fat products. It will also have a significantly lower energy and CO2 footprint than Tine’s current Voll, Kleppe, Naerbo and Vikesa dairies. The new facility is expected to begin operations in 2011.
Tine is Norway’s largest producer, distributor and exporter of dairy products. It is owned by 16,312 Norwegian dairy farmers.
