Danone expands restaurant yogurt sales

French Groupe Danone has teamed up with Subway in the US to sell its Dannon yogurt as part of the fast food chains Fresh Fit low-fat sandwich menu. It marks the companys first big nationwide expansion into US restaurants.

US consumption of yogurt trails far behind that of Europe and Dannon, the US subsidiary of the French company, has launched probiotic yogurts in an effort to strengthen sales. Subway is the largest fast food retailer in the country by number of stores.
