Arla Foods to increase whey processing capacity

Arla Foods Ingredients is investing €67 million in increased capacity at its Videbaek whey processing plant in Denmark. Five new “hi-tech” filtration lines from GEA Filtration are being added to the plant which should give it an annual processing capacity of around 4.5 million tonnes whey by mid-2013, according to Arla Foods. The boost is crucial, it adds, because of the present “massive” worldwide demand for whey-based products.
