Fonterra splits Khosla’s old role
Fonterra will not directly replace Sanjay Khosla’s role of head of its brands division, instead splitting the key role.
The New Zealand company’s new managing director of Australasia, John Doumani, will share the role with Singapore-base Pradeep Pant who is currently Fonterra Brands regional managing director for Asia and the Middle East. Doumani, who joins Fonterra on 1 March, is in charge of the brands division in Australia and New Zealand and Fonterra’s food service business globally.
Chief executive Andrew Ferrier says splitting the role and creating integrated businesses in Australia and China is a more efficient way to run the brands business.
Doumani is a former international president of the Campbell Soup Company and a former managing director of Meadow Lea Foods.
Fonterra has also announced Andrei Mikhalevsky will head up its new value added business of Fonterra Ingredients which was split from Fonterra GlobalTrade last year. GlobalTrade specialises in high volume commodity trading and will be headed by John Shaskey.
Meanwhile Taranaki farmer Blue Read has been elected as the new chairman of the Fonterra Shareholders Council. He has been deputy chair of the council since 2001.
