Genome collaboration may boost Arla
Arla Foods has signed an agreement with US-based Integrated Genomics ERGO to analyse dairy lactic acid bacteria to further develop the company’s functional products.
ERGO integrates biological data from genomics, biochemistry, gene expression studies, genetics and literature. Its database contains the largest available collection of networked cellular pathways and access could provide Arla with useful information in the rapidly expanding nutraceuticals category. The project between the companies is expected to run through 2007.
